A very tough hot race. Well worth the trip, and will be back again in 2010.

Terenzo and myself leave the run transition to start the tough 21km run in one of the worlds toughest Ironman 70.3 events.

Terenzo and myself with Fred from Alsaska milk in the Philippines. Fred is an Ironman Triathlete himself and responsible for bringing Ironman to his country of the Philippines. Well done Fred, and thanks for a great time!

The best cable ski park in the World is in the Philippines and was the site of the Ironman 70.3 race. Here I am about to give it a go with the Governer of Camarinne Sur , Terenzo, and MG.

Another photo post our training session in Darmstadt Germany June 2009.

This is a photo from a shoot we did with Sram in Germany in 2009. post the photoshoot I spent a good hour going through a series of combinations with the Female European Boxing Champion. Boxing is a great core workout and something I really enjoy. she was a wonderful coach and I learned a lot.

The press in Frankfurt is incredible and the race is beamed live all day on TV. I managed to pull it together for my post race interview but a few minutes after this was in the medical tent.

Its over for 2009. What a race and what a relief. A very tough day at the office but a great race that I will forever remember. From 1st to 3rd in the last 5km and a struggle to just see the finish line in the end. I was in the hurt box really badly and crossed just under 3 minutes from the title.

I have never been so happy to see a finish line. I went from 1st place to 3rd in the space of 5km after hitting the wall. Had I maintained my run speed I would have put together a 2:37 marathon split in Frankfurt. I hit the wall badly and struggled to get home. It was ugly but satisfying.

The pace on the run in Frankfurt early was just insane. After 16km I went on the chase after Eneko Llanos in a hunt for the title and was running 3:40 per km pace, which is just under 6 minute miles. It was fast but what do you do when you have Eneko Llanos up the road and the title at hand. My motto is GO FOR IT.

Timo tagged me for most of the bike. I could not shake him. Onto the run we started together passing through 14km as a team in pursuit of Eneko Llanos

After a terrible swim where I overheated in my wetsuit, I had no choice but to push hard on the bike to chase the front group.

The second lap of the bike in Frankfurt was crunch time. I had to go and waited for the cobble section to make my move. I attacked hard in the place they call "Hell" because of the big cobble stones and dropped the pack. Only Timo Bracht could respond as we went on the hunt after Andreas Ralert and eneko Llanos

In late June of 2009 on the way to the Tour De France I was able to get a photoshoot done. The theme of the shoot was the fighter that I am reknowned for an they were able to secure a boxing ring and get some photos done with the european female boxing champion.

On the way to the Tour, Alex and Bobby (SRAM) popped through Germany to do a photoshoot for the upcoming SRAM catelogue. I had Ironman Frankfurt in a few days time so the timing was great. The shoot was very successful and some of the photos amazing.

The SRAM Team car was on its way to the 2009 Tour De France. We had a scheduled photoshoot but some issues with the car might have stranded them in Germany, when they had to get to Monaco. I had a look and fixed everything up. Well rang the right people to anyway.
I loved the ITU racing. I still miss it a lot. This racing is fast fast fast and really sets up the run speed and fitness necessary for triathlon success.

Specialized is my bike sponsor and an amazing company. I spent a week in Morgan Hill in 2009 and went through the headquarters discussing my racing needs and ways to make me go quicker. What an amazing company. At Lunch time everyday the employees of Specialized have a hammer ride of 30 miles around the roads of Morgan Hill. It is a solid ride. This picture is taken at the start of the ride, and with me is Specialized founder and president Mike Synyard. He enjoys the lunch ride aswell and the fact that everyone loves to ride hard on their bike. I loved it.

Under Armour is my key supporter and one of the best companies I have ever been associated with. A young, motivated and driven company they are taking the World by storm. This is a photo taken of a photoshoot we did in Boulder Colorado in 2007. This is 6 weeks before I won the World Championship and was a wonderful time with the crew. Some of the shots were used in national advertising campaigns by UA and the team was always a great laugh and fun to be around.
