This is the 3rd year of one of the toughest Ironman races on earth. I competed last year in the Ironman 70.3 race here in China in what was one of the toughest triathlon days I have ever seen. Temperatures hit close to 120 degrees for the competitors and it was brutal. More than half the field did not finish the race.
I am a big fan of helping push our amazing sport in new arenas and Asia is definitely a spot I would love to see more growth in Triathlon races. I have decided to support the Ironman this year in China. This could go on to be one of the biggest Triathlon races in the World with china being an amazing venue. Supporting events like this is important to me. Will see you all at the race.
